Employee Service Recognition honors faculty, staff and retirees
Radford University recognized more than 240 employees and retirees April 25 for their many years of dedication and contributions to the university.
At a ceremony held in Muse Banquet Hall, President Brian O. Hemphill presented certificates to employees who had a minimum of 10 of years of service to the university.
Six employees were recognized for 40 years of service, and three for 35 years. The total number of service years adds to more than 3,000, Hemphill said.

Office Services Specialist Carolyn Turner from Printing Services was honored with this year’s Presidential Employee Service Award. The annual award honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the university’s students, faculty and staff and to the community. Turner received a certificate and $1,000 from the Radford University Foundation.
“Today’s honorees and their colleagues provide exemplary service each and every day and it makes a difference to our students, our faculty and our staff,” President Hemphill said. “For that, I express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to each of you.”
The president said students turn to Radford University for their education, guidance and support, and “that weighs heavily on each and every one of us as we help them to realize their dreams. Your service makes it all possible.”
The Department of Human Resources coordinates the recognition program each spring to celebrate and honor the university’s faculty and staff.
