Summer is time for having fun and improving skills

For the young athlete or artist looking to sharpen their skills or for children looking to enjoy summer fun and healthy activity, Radford University will host a diverse slate of summer camps and youth programs.

Soccer, basketball, baseball and volleyball players can work with Radford’s Division I coaches, aspiring ballet dancers with an internationally renowned ballet teacher and artists can study with the inspiring faculty of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Younger kids can also have fun at the Student Recreation Wellness Center (SRWC) or tinker to their hearts delight at Camp Invention at the Center for the Sciences.

Registration is underway for the second annual Multi-Sport Camp, hosted at the Radford University Student Recreation Wellness Center (SRWC) on June 11-15.  For children aged 8-13, the Multi-Sport Camp will be led by Radford Intramural counselors and will feature sports, games, activities and campus experiences, like visits to the Radford Planetarium, the Student Outdoor Recreation Complex or the Hurlburt Center Game Room.

The SRWC Multi-Sport Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11-14 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 15.  Camp Fee is $125 per child.  Registration deadline is May 29.  To register or for more information, contact Foster Ridpath, assistant director of programming and club sports, at fridpath@radford.edu or (540) 831-6506.
