Calling all CHBS alumni!

Nominations for the 2018 College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences (CHBS) Alumni Awards are underway.

The awards were crafted by the CHBS Advisory Board to recognize graduates who have given back to Radford University or have had distinguished life’s work. The selection committee considers awards in two areas: a CHBS Distinguished Alumni Award and a CHBS Posthumous Alumni Award. Awards are presented during Homecoming each fall.

“The college is profoundly fortunate to have so many outstanding alumni serving their professions and communities in such diverse and meaningful ways,” CHBS Dean Katherine Hawkins said. “It is truly our honor to recognize them for their contributions as proud Highlanders.”

In fall 2017, CHBS Dean Katherine Hawkins conferred the CHBS Distinguished Alumni Award to Rick Schwein ’83 at the college’s annual alumni and family reception.

Schwein graduated from Radford University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He served in the U.S. Army from 1983-88, where he was a military intelligence officer and participated in highly classified counterterrorism missions in the Middle East.

All nominations for the 2018 Alumni Award are due by March 30 and should be submitted in electronic form to Kerie Benson.
