Adscape brings local high school students to Radford

ADSCAPE-NakiaShelton1
Graphic Designer Nakia Shelton led high school students through a workshop during Adscape in 2015.

Volunteers with the advertising program Adscape are coming to Radford University for the third consecutive year to educate area high school students on careers in communication, advertising and related fields.

The day-long program includes access to workshops covering the areas of public relations, social media, advertising management, audio/video production, virtual reality, 3D animation, graphic design and digital communication.

Panel discussions and other activities will occur during Adscape, as well as an elevator pitch exercise, led by Radford's School of Communication students.

The event is free to current high school students, and is sponsored by the School of Communication, the Office of the Provost at Radford University, Mountain Valley Transportation, Duncan Automotive, GoJourni, Cube Software and Cuz’s Autobody Repair.

Adscape received a national American Advertising Federation Mosaic Award in 2016 for its promotion of inclusion in the workplace.
