Families and alumni to return for Homecoming and Family Weekend
Radford University will welcome back family, friends and alumni for the 2015 Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities on Oct. 16-18.
The university hosts each year the special weekend of events to engage students – past and present – and their families with the Radford University community. Visitors will see the vast changes to campus and have the opportunity to explore the new facilities and offerings and also share in memories of the past.
Homecoming event highlights include the Alumni and Family Village, Women of Radford Lunch, an Alumni Lacrosse Game and tours of the new Student Recreation and Wellness Center and Student Outdoor Recreation Complex.
The Class of 1965 will celebrate their Golden Reunion on Saturday evening at the Governor Tyler House. Also on Saturday, students and alumni will join in the National Pan-Hellenic Council StompFest Step Show.
More information on Homecoming events can be found on the homecoming website. Information on Family Weekend events can be found on the Family Weekend website.
Family Weekend will feature a range of cultural and educational events, such as dance and theatre performances, the Appalachian Folk Arts Festival and planetarium shows. Sports fans can cheer on Highlander athletes during volleyball and soccer games.
On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., President Penelope W. Kyle will host parents and families for the "Conversation with the President" in the Covington Atrium. The president will provide an update about the university, followed by a question and answer session and a light breakfast.
