Radford University prepares for spring

Radford University will observe Spring Break from March 7 through March 15.

Upon return, students and the entire campus community will remain busy with some of the opportunities and successes that mark spring semester.

Through the end of March, the entire RU community will continue to celebrate Women’s History Month. Events still to come include the annual performances of "Vagina Monologues;" the Paradigm Shift dance performance; Her-Story Celebration featuring poems, sketches and photo journals by RU students, faculty, staff and administrators; and a closing reception titled "Reflections on Women and Women's History Month," featuring President Penelope W. Kyle.

Also at the end of month is the Spring State of the Student Body Address. President Kyle and campus student leaders will meet at the March 26 event to discuss changes, opportunities and student concerns.

Much of the campus’ finest academic work will be showcased in April at the 24th annual Student Engagement Forum, sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship. The forum showcases the creation of new knowledge at Radford with presentations and symposia of and on undergraduate and graduate students’ creative works, scholarship and research.

Spring Commencement will take place this year on May 9. As always, the main ceremony will be joined by the College of Graduate and Professional Studies hooding ceremony, School of Nursing pinning, ROTC commissioning and Multicultural Congratulatory ceremony.
