Diversity Dialogue will examine issues raised by Ferguson, MO events

"Ferguson: Let’s Talk!" will be the first Diversity Dialogue session of the 2014-15 academic year.

Crasha Townsend, director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, will moderate the Thursday, Sept. 25 session in the Hurlburt Student Center auditorium from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Presenters include Assistant Professor of Sociology Joanna Hunter and Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Shelly Wagers.

Diversity Dialogue will address the following questions:

  • What is your professional opinion on the narratives surrounding the Ferguson case?
  • From your vantage point, how could this case shape our communities?

All members of the Radford University community are invited. Participants may bring their own lunches.

Diversity Dialogue is a monthly discussion group concerning various issues and concepts related to intercultural competency, particularly areas affecting learning environments. Remaining sessions for the 2014-2015 academic year will be on the following Thursdays: Oct. 16, Nov. 13, Feb. 19, March 19 and April 16.
