Governor Appoints New Member to RU Board of Visitors

On Friday, Jan. 10, Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the appointment of Randolph J. "Randy" Marcus to the Radford University Board of Visitors (BOV). Marcus, of Richmond, most recently served as chief of staff to Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2000 from Hampden-Sydney College.

"I am pleased to welcome Randy Marcus to the Radford University Board of Visitors," said Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle. "He shares an affinity for Radford University that runs in the family," added Kyle. His brother, "Tripp" Marcus, graduated from RU in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre and Cinema.

Mr. Marcus was appointed to serve out the remainder of retiring BOV member Sandra Cupp Davis' term. Davis first joined the Board of Visitors in 2011. She served as Vice Chair of the Governance, Administration and Athletics Committee. She also served as Vice Chair of the Advancement/Alumni Relations and Communication/Marketing Committee and was a member of the Student Affairs Committee.

"We very much appreciate Sandy’s leadership and long standing commitment and dedication to Radford University," said Penelope Kyle. "She has been a tireless advocate and supporter of this university and its students."
