RU Planetarium earns NASA recognition

RU Planetarium

The RU Planetarium in Curie 43 is honored by the NASA Space Place.

The Radford University Planetarium was recognized by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for its "valuable contributions to its community in the areas of science, technology education and inspiration."

In January, Rhett Herman, planetarium director, received a certificate of appreciation from the NASA Space Place, an educational website about space and earth science for upper-elementary aged children. The NASA Space Place features articles, activities and interactive web games, produced by a team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is the children's portal to the NASA Science Mission Directorate website.

The RU Planetarium is located in room 43 on the ground floor, or basement, of Curie Hall and features sky shows and educational programming about astronomy for adults and children throughout the academic year. For more information and the latest RU Planetarium features, visit the RU planetarium website or email Herman at rherman@radford.edu.
