Radford University alumni and friends celebrated their Highlander pride at the Washington Nationals game on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Prior to the first pitch, alumni gathered at a local restaurant to meet fellow alumni.

"I think it is great to see so many alumni here and to network with younger alumni to help them with career opportunities," said Megan Brickey '05, who lives in Washington, D.C.

The Radford University Day at Nationals Park offered alumni an opportunity to bring their families to the ball game and show their Radford spirit.

"It was so great to see all of the Radford pride at the pre-game social and in the stands at Nationals Park. Washington, D.C. was about as close as I would probably travel because of work and family life in Pennsylvania," said Mathew ‘Mat' Panyik '93 who traveled to the stadium from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

According to ticket sales, more than 250 RU alumni and friends attended the event.
