RU honors its distinguished women
For the second year in a row, the Radford University Women’s Studies Program is observing Women's History Month with posters on display across campus honoring some of RU's distinguished women.
The women whose photos and accomplishments are featured on the posters were selected based on their commitment to their work, contributions to the university and service to others. Thirteen women are being recognized each week through the end of March.
With support from the Office of the Provost, the Women's Studies Committee selected honorees based on nominations from deans of the colleges, the staff and A/P senates and the Student Government Association.
"We are proud to highlight the accomplishments of these remarkable women," said Professor Moira Baker, director of the RU Women's Studies Program. "These students, faculty and staff members are inspirational models for all of us."
