Majors and Minors Fair helps students find the right fit

Settling on a major field in college can be a daunting task. Students typically have questions like these:

  • What are the required courses for this major?
  • What are the employment opportunities in this field?
  • Are there any fraternities or clubs associated with this major?
  • To graduate on time, when would I have to start major course work?

Those questions and others will be addressed at the College Majors and Minors Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the lower level of Heth Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the fair will be rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19.

"The Majors and Minors Fair is for all students. Those who are undecided are given the opportunity to explore the majors and minors offered at RU," said Rachel Hall of the Pre-Major Advising Center and coordinator of the fair. "Other students can learn more about minors that are complementary to their majors, degree requirements and internship and scholarship opportunities."

Students who have already established their major and minor fields can speak with representatives of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies about master’s programs and requirements for admission. Hall said the fair is a great opportunity for all students.
