Popular bluegrass band to play on campus
The bluegrass band Infamous Stringdusters will perform at Radford University on Monday, April 22, as part of the Appalachian events series.
Nominated in 2011 as Entertainer of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the band released its first studio album, "Fork in the Road," in 2007. It has since won IBMA's album of the year and song of the year awards. The band's "Magic No. 9" from the album "Things That Fly" was nominated in 2011 for a Grammy in the Best Country Instrumental category.
Band members are Andy Hall on dobro, Andy Falco on guitar, Chris Pandolfi on banjo, Jeremy Garrett on fiddle and Travis Book on upright bass.
The Infamous Stringdusters will perform at 7 p.m. at Bondurant Auditorium in Preston Hall. Tickets are on sale at the Hurlburt Student Center information desk and online at radfordactivities.universitytickets.com. Admission is $8 for RU students, faculty and staff, and children under 12; and $16 for the general public. All tickets are general admission.
