Kelley Selected for Business Journalism Fellowship
Leigh Anne Kelley, an instructor in Radford University's School of Communication, was one of 30 fellows selected by The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism for four days of intensive study in business journalism.
Sixteen professional journalists and 14 professors will participate in the program. Fellows will attend separate seminars Jan. 2-5, 2014, at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix.
Professors receive training in how to teach a university-level course in business journalism. The seminars, taught by highly regarded business journalists and business journalism professors, are part of Reynolds Business Journalism Week at the Cronkite School.
Kelley has been on the faculty at Radford University since 2006. She teaches courses in journalism, advertising and interactive communication in the School of Communication. She has more than two decades of experience in both print and online media and remains active professionally as a contributing editor to Credit Today and secretary of the Roanoke Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. As part of the fellowship, she will be developing a course in business journalism that will be offered in fall 2014.
