Steven Beach, associate professor of finance in the College of Business and Economics (COBE) at Radford University, has been appointed associate director of the Governmental and Nonprofit Assistance Center (GNAC). He will develop professional educational material related to cash, banking, investment and debt management in the public sector.
"I am excited to join the GNAC as it continues to grow," Beach said. "I look forward to helping the GNAC create and deliver training that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the public and nonprofit administrators who manage organizational finances."
The GNAC is an outreach center of COBE that offers training and certification for government finance officials across the Commonwealth in conjunction with the Virginia Government Finance Officers’ Association. The GNAC also provides technical and administrative support for the Certified Public Finance Officer program, the finance officers' national public finance accreditation program.
RU's GNAC celebrated a milestone in May with the certification of the 100th Virginia fiscal officer. It now has more than 300 Virginia governmental financial officers enrolled in courses.
