Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle sent the following message to the campus community on June 28, 2012.

Dear Radford University Community,

I write to share with you the details of Dr. Covington’s final arrangements.

There will be a viewing and visitation Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at the Covington Center. For more information, you should contact George Penn, the funeral director at Penn's Funeral Home in Pulaski. (540-230-0730). Funeral services for Dr. Covington will be at noon on Saturday at Grove United Methodist Church on Tyler Avenue in Radford.  A private interment will follow later in the day at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the H. Douglas & Beatrice M. Covington Endowed Scholarship in the Performing Arts. Donations may be sent to the Radford University Foundation, P.O. Box 6893, Radford, VA 24142.  Please note the name of the scholarship on the check's memo line. For more information, you should contact the Radford University Office of University Advancement at (540) 831-5407.

Expressions of sympathy should be sent to the family at 1210 Grove Ave., Radford, VA 24141.
