Radford University Recognized among Nation's Best by RateMyProfessors.com

Radford University was recognized today by RateMyProfessors.com as one of the top 25 universities in the nation, as calculated by the positive professor and campus ratings received by the website from RU students.

RateMyProfessors.com is the Internet's largest destination for collegiate professor ratings, with more than 7,500 schools, 1.7 million professors and 14 million ratings. The site uses a five-point Likert scale as well as a binary scoring system for students to submit their ratings.

Radford University, ranked 22nd, was the only college or university in Virginia to be included on this year's list.

“The assessment of our work at Radford University is most appropriately and powerfully measured by the success of our students. When our students graduate and lead happy and productive lives, we know we have succeeded," said Radford University Provost Sam Minner.  "However, measures such as RateMyProfessors.com also have their place. For example, Forbes includes information from this website as one element in their overall ranking of colleges and universities. In addition, a University of Maine study published in a respected peer-reviewed journal found that the ratings on RateMyProfessors.com were positively correlated with the measure of course quality and level of challenge used on the campus. The best professors at the school tended to be rated higher on the site. I should also note that the number one school on this year’s list is Stanford University, and that is very good company indeed.”
