Radford University alumna Mary Chiaramonte, M.F.A. ‘10, is listed among 25 Artists to Watch in the fall 2011 issue of American Artist Watercolor magazine.

“Mary Chiaramonte's evocative paintings demonstrate the unique voice of an artist who just earned her M.F.A. last year,” states the magazine, which also mentions that Chiaramonte, while at Radford University, “studied under such masters as Z.L. Feng and Halide Salam, both of whom encouraged their students to expand their creative repertoire and prepare for a professional career.”

The magazine recognized Chiaramonte for her work, “Exploration Through Reflection.”

Chiaramonte said she isn’t sure how the magazine discovered her work, but she feels “honored to be in the magazine. I work pretty hard at what I do, so it is great to have some of that come around back to me.”

Chiaramonte’s work can be seen on her website.

American Artist Watercolor is a quarterly magazine featuring profiles of professional watercolorists. It includes sections on exhibitions, workshops and competitions. The fall 2011 issue marks the magazine’s 25th anniversary.
