  1. Tri-State Chamber Winds Concert »

    On November 29th through December 1st, the Department of Music at Radford University will host the 6th Annual Tri-State Chamber Winds Festival. Under the direction of RU Director of Bands Dr. Wayne Gallops, the event will feature RU Applied Wind Faculty and students, along with select high school students from Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. The RU Faculty Chamber Winds and the University Wind Ensemble will open the festival in concert at 8 pm on Thursday, December 1st in the Performance Hall in the Covington Center at Radford University. The RU Concert Jazz Ensemble performs on Friday evening, November 30th at 8pm. High School student participants will be featured in concert on Saturday, December 1st at 1pm.   3. Public screening of documentary film "American Meat" »

    Can sustainable farming feed the nation? "American Meat," a documentary film celebrating U.S. farmers and investigating food production and consumer choices, answers that question. The first 150 guests to arrive will receive free burrito cards from Chipotle Mexican Grill. The film will be followed by a Q&A session featuring co-founder Chris Ely of Applegate Farms, a 25-year-old organic and natural meat business in New Jersey; and Graham Meriwether, director of "American Meat." Admission is free.

    iBooks Author is a free application that allows anyone to create and publish beautiful Multi-Touch textbooks and just about any other kind of book. Multi-Touch books combine text, video, picture galleries, interactive designs, 3D objects and more to bring content to life in ways the printed page never could. Admission is free.

    iTunes U Course Manager is an easy to use, browser-based tool from Apple that lets you create a complete course for iPad using digital materials. Digital materials such as a syllabus, quizzes, presentations, PDFs, Internet links and more -- including Multi-Touch books created with iBooks Author. Students will have all the materials for your course right at their fingertips. Admission is free.
