Jorge William Chavez Ayala and his parents moved to the United States and settled in Northern Virginia when he was a child. His lifelong dream was to attend college. While Chavez began his education at a community college, he knew he wanted to earn a bachelor’s degree and needed to transfer to a four-year university. Chavez discovered Radford University’s School of Communication offered an accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program that would allow him to earn both degrees in one place. It was a perfect fit.

“I believe that success comes with determination, hard work, and a little push from those that can make a positive impact and help you accomplish your goals and dreams in life,” he said, noting that Radford University faculty – along with his family and friends – gave him that ‘little push’ to succeed.

Chavez’s goal upon graduation is to pursue a career as a human resources manager.
