SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation and QEP Development Timeline

May 9-11, 2010	SACS Reaffirmation Symposium attended by representatives from each college and academic unit.
August 8, 2010	Campus Forum on SACS Reaffirmation and the QEP
October 26, 2010	Campus Forum to officially launch reaffirmation process and explain the role of campus constituencies in the selection of the QEP theme
November 16, 2010	Campus Forum on QEP Topic Selection; 8 possible themes/topics identified.
November 19, 2010	Each potential topic/theme is assigned to an author with expertise or interest in that specific area. The author is responsible for drafting and developing a prospectus which would be shared with the campus community during spring semester and used as the basis for topic selection
January 25, 2011	Final theme prospectuses posted on web
January 31, 2011	Reaffirmation and QEP development process discussed with Student Government Association
February 3, 2011	Authors of prospectuses for potential themes present them at Faculty Senate meeting
February 9, 2011	Dr. Mark Shanley, Vice President for Student Affairs, receives briefing on the role of his division in QEP development
February 15, 2011	Campus forum at which authors of prospectuses present them. Attendees are asked to submit comments and recommendations to a specially created sacs@radford.edu email address
February 17, 2011	President Kyle and her cabinet are briefed on QEP progress
February 17, 2011	Faculty Senate becomes a “Committee of the Whole” to discuss and rank-order its top three QEP theme recommendations
February 18, 2011	Reaffirmation and QEP development process discussed with Student Media Committee
February 22, 2011	Reaffirmation and QEP development process discussed with Intercollegiate Athletics Staff
February 23, 2011	Reaffirmation and QEP development process discussed with Residence Hall Association
March 4, 2011	Deadline for submission of feedback to QEP Leadership Team
March 14, 2011	QEP Leadership Team meets to assess input and determine a final QEP recommendation
March 15, 2011	“Citizen Scholar” recommendation sent to President Kyle
March 31, 2011	Representatives of QEP Leadership Team meet with President Kyle and her cabinet to discuss the recommended theme. It is endorsed by acclamation.

May 9, 2012	Faculty piloting courses in fall 2012 meet and give recommendations to the Launch Curriculum Committee regarding guides and materials required by faculty developing courses and/or S-C projects. The teaching faculty continue to meet throughout the summer and to consult with the Curriculum Committee electronically
