Affirmed in 2012 as Radford University's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), the Scholar-Citizen Initiative (SCI) has served as one of five premier High Impact Practice programs at Radford University and as a key engagement pathway for students. A QEP is implemented for five years, and the SCI-QEP period concludes June 30, 2017, following which an Impact Report will be submitted to SACSCOC reporting the results of the project. Spring 2017 marks the end of the data collection period for the Scholar-Citizen project.

While the SCI-QEP project period is sunsetting, Scholar-Citizen is not. It will continue as a civic learning initiative supportive of Radford University’s traditions of student-focused teaching and of service to the Commonwealth and the nation. During this transition period, the Scholar-Citizen Program website will be the primary hub for information about SCI course credentialing, funding, co-curricular programming and the student diploma pathway.
