Off Campus Robbery---Radford University Release The Radford City Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place this morning at Gilbert Real Estate. They are looking for a suspect described as a college-age white male, wearing dark colored clothes and a dark colored baseball style cap. He is believed to be driving a 2011 white Mercedes GLK 350 SUV with Virginia license plate number KLF-6778. Off Campus Robbery---Radford City Media Release On 12/07/11 at approximately 11:25 hours officers from the Radford City Police Department responded to the rental office of Gilbert Real Estate on the 600 Block of Calhoun Street in reference to a robbery. Once on scene, officers located employees of Gilbert Real Estate who stated a male had entered the premises armed with a black in color hand gun. The suspect demanded keys to a staff member’s vehicle when he left the premises. The vehicle is a 2011 white in color Mercedes SUV with Virginia tag # KLF-6778. The offender is described as a college age white male, wearing dark colored clothes and a dark colored baseball style cap.
This subject is believed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information in regards to this incident should contact the Radford City Police Department at (540) 731-3627. If you encounter this vehicle please call 911 immediately.
Suspicious Activity – October 31, 2011 The Radford University Police Department has received a report of suspicious activity from a female student. The student reported that near Cook Hall on October 30, 2011 at approximately 8:19 PM, two black males approached from different directions and ran towards the student. The student entered Cook Hall and contacted police. RUPD was unable to locate anyone matching the description given by the student. The student reported that one of the males had on a red sweatshirt and the other was wearing a black sweatshirt. Crime Alert Notice - Oct. 28, 2011: Off Campus Assault On Oct. 28, 2011, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 20 year old female Radford University student was assaulted in the alley near the 1100 block of Fairfax Street. Radford City Police were contacted by the victim from her residence a short time later. The suspect was descibed as a male wearing dark clothing. The victim was treated for minor injuries and released from the New River Valley Medical Center. The area was searched with negative results. The Radford University Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred on Oct. 9, 2011, at approximately 2:42 a.m. near Madison Hall on campus. Two victims reported that while walking across campus near Madison Hall from Tyler Avenue, they were assaulted by two black males wearing blue jeans. One suspect was wearing a black shirt and the other was wearing a white shirt. One of the victims received medical attention for injuries at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and was released.
