The Radford University Police Department is a full-service, sworn, accredited law enforcement agency devoted to the welfare of the University community. The department enforces state laws and Radford University policy on all property owned or controlled by the university as well as on adjacent streets and sidewalks. Members of the department are dedicated to maintain and improve the safety, security, and quality of life within our community.
Our mission is to work toward providing a safe and healthful living, learning and working environment for every member of the University community by preserving public order and tranquility, protecting the life and property of all, and providing education to and training of citizens and law enforcement personnel for the greater University community and the Commonwealth.
On behalf of the Radford University Police Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the RUPD website. The Radford University Police Department is a Virginia State certified and accredited police department offering the full range of police services. The members of the department are proud of their role on this campus and strive to maintain an environment conducive to the educational mission of the institution. As you will see as you browse these pages, in addition to our comprehensive public safety services, RUPD is cognizant of its role as an extension of the overall teaching mission of Radford University. With that objective in mind the department provides a wide variety of educational programs to enhance the student experience. We encourage you to take advantage of these programs. If there is a program or service you would like to see us provide please contact us and we will attempt to do so. The members of the Radford University Police Department take pride in their commitment and dedication to the institution. We encourage your active participation in maintaining this safe environment.
