Peer Instructor Selection

Interested in becoming a Peer Instructor?

Peer Instructors (PIs) are undergraduate student leaders and members of the UNIV 100 PI staff. PIs are responsible for co-teaching one section of UNIV 100 with a faculty/staff member, and helping new students transition and adapt to life at Radford University. Each PI collaborates with their Faculty Instructor to develop the course, create and implement lesson plans, and build a sense of community in the classroom.

PIs are paid employees and thus expected to serve as a positive representative of the Office of New Student Programs and Radford University. PIs should demonstrate an understanding of the PI position and have the capacity to develop relationships with others, manage their time well, be flexible, and create a positive, collaborative relationship with their Faculty Instructor. PIs should also be approachable, dependable, trustworthy, and professional.

Read through the information below to learn more about the application process. If you have questions, please contact Brianna Kuhn in the Office of New Student Programs via phone 540-831-5923, or via email bkuhn2@radford.edu
