New Freshmen

We offer two programs specifically for first time college students and their parents.

Simple Overview

Quest is our comprehensive two-day program, and Quest Express is our new one-day abbreviated program.

Which Program Should I Attend?

Quest is a two-day, in-depth orientation program for incoming freshmen who are new to Radford University. You should plan to register for Quest if you haven't previously spent significant time on the Radford campus or in the region.

Quest Express is a one-day program for students who are familiar with Radford University, whether they previously participated in programs on campus, such as summer camps, or have parents or siblings who attended Radford University.

Please see the complete program descriptions to the left to better clarify the best program for you and your parents.

Why two programs?

The first reason is we want to ensure we are meeting the needs of our new students and their parents.  We have found that we have many students and parents who, through multiple campus visits, participation in various camps or the Governor's School, or whose parents or siblings attended Radford, are quite familiar and comfortable with Radford University and its resources.

The second reason has to do with numbers.  The fall 2011 freshmen class was the largest in the University's history, and we anticipate this trend continuing for years to come.  By creating Quest Express, we have actually created additional space across our orientation programs, which will allow us to provide the same high level of customer service and personal attention for which we are known.
