During your freshman year, all honors students meet with one of the honors advisors. Working with this advisor, you will complete your honors plan of study. This plan of study will be your guide for how to complete the honors requirements for your major.
Every major (and every student) will need to complete the honors requirements in slightly different ways, so this plan is very important! In fact, once you and your honors advisor have developed the plan, it needs to be reviewed and signed by the department chair for your major.
However, the plan of study is not a list of commitments written in stone. If you change your major or cannot contract a particular course, it is not a problem. However, you should meet with an honors advisor regularly to make sure that you are staying on track.
The requirements to graduate as a Highlander Scholar are listed on the Current Students page.
