Student workers are responsible for various duties in the Center including working at the Circulation Desk. Students will be using the online Library system to circulate materials and equipment. Other responsibilities include: ensuring patrons follow TRC rules and procedures; assisting patrons using the TRC with finding materials that meet their needs; processing new materials for cataloging; transporting materials to and from McConnell Library; shelving and keeping the collections in order; assisting patrons in the computer lab; filling NASA material requests; maintaining the appearance of the Center; and other general duties.
The TRC’s hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Students will be assigned to work anytime during the TRC’s hours depending on their class schedules. Punctuality and good attendance is required.
Must be self-motivated, responsible, and pay very close attention to detail. Applicants must be able to communicate and interact with a wide variety of people; have good customer service skills; neat appearance; ability to work independently and with good judgment. Basic computer skills are required. Must be physically able to lift, carry, and move check-out equipment and boxes of books.
Applicants must be qualified for work study position through Financial Aid Office.
