    Each year, with the coming of flowers and warmer breezes and the imminent end of the spring semester also comes “Making a Scene: An Evening of One Acts.” This project of the advanced directing class features each aspiring director’s final project presentation. The number of one acts depends on the number of students and this year that total is seven.

    “The Farce of Martin of Cambray,” translated into modern English by Jody Enders as “Cooch E. Whippet, depicts a dysfunctional relationship between a husband, Cooch and his wife Wilhelmina. Radford University Departments of English and Theatre present this collaboration at 6 p.m., April 18 and 19.

    The CVPA has Spring Fever and a competitive spirit. Radford University is publicly launching a new fundraising initiative April 17. For one week only, April 17 – 21, each college on campus plus Radford University Athletics will raise money for a project of its choice utilizing a new online crowdfunding platform. Each college and Athletics are competing to see which project can reach its goal first.

    Radford University Department of Theatre and Cinema rounds out its Pridemore Series with a smash…a smashing production of “The Importance of Being Earnest,” that is. Oscar Wilde’s theatrical masterpiece of wit and frivolity lands on the Hayes Stage April 11 and plays through April 16.

    For the third consecutive year, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship granted select Radford University theatre students money to attend conferences. At SETC, several of those awarded support participated in the Southeastern Theatre Conference Design Competition.
