    The Radford University School of Dance & Theatre presents a concert of dance as part of the university’s family weekend. The concert will incorporate a wide spectrum of movement styles featuring original choreography by the Department of Dance’s faculty. Spend the evening with us enjoying innovative choreography highlighting a variety of dance genres including Modern Dance, Classical Ballet and Jazz. General Admission: $7, Children: $3.50, RU Student/Faculty/Staff: w/RU ID: Free.     By Beth Henley. “Crimes of the Heart” is playwright Beth Henley’s homage to her roots. The three Magrath Sisters, trapped in their small Mississippi town, wrestle with the lies and hurts of the past as they face some super-sized troubles together. Henley’s unique blend of Southern Gothic and screwball comedy is at its finest in this 1981 Pulitzer Prize winner. General Admission: $10; RU Faculty/Staff, Senior Discount (55+), and Group Rates (10+): $6; RU Student w/ID: Free.     The Department of Design presents the annual Fall Fashion Show. The family weekend fashion show features original designs by Radford University students and faculty, with students modeling the garments. Admission is free.

    The first of four productions hosted by the University Performance Series, the Festival of South African Dance presents an evening of two distinct South African dance traditions born from the perseverance of the human spirit. Two deeply rhythmic ensembles, Real Actions Pantsula and Stimela “The Gumboot” Musical uplift, unite and tell a story following their historical tradition of spreading awareness of socioeconomic and political challenges. These communicative dances play an important role in restoring, revitalizing and preserving South African Culture. General Admission: $15, Children: $7.50, RU Student/Faculty/Staff: w/RU ID: Free.
