Casts announced for fall 2017 plays


The Department of Theatre and Cinema proudly announces that casting is complete for the fall 2017 productions. That explains the recent excitement throughout the hallways of Porterfield.

The casting takes place in the first week and a half of school so it is hectic, exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. Of course, with the elation of being cast there is also the deflation of not being selected. That is part of the actor’s life–auditioning, and then looking on to the next one.

In fact, auditions for next semester’s production of “Oklahoma!” and the student-directed “This is Our Youth” are taking place in December. The department also would like to remind everyone that the auditions are open to all Radford students. That means you do not have to be a major to audition.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts congratulates the casts of this fall’s plays:
“Crimes of the Heart,” “Speech & Debate” and “Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse.”

“Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley and directed by Molly Hood, assistant professor of theatre:
