Clarinet Day

Radford University is excited to offer Clarinet Day for high school clarinetists

Clarinet Day is an opportunity for young clarinetist to learn more about the clarinet and clarinet playing. Masterclasses with Radford clarinet instructor David Allen and guest artist Fabian Fuentes focusing on mastering the fundamentals of clarinet playing will be beneficial to high school students at all levels. Students will also participate in a large clarinet ensemble, sitting next to Radford University clarinet students. Students may attend playing any member of the clarinet family that they currently play in their school band. (No Eb soprano clarinets please).

The Clarinet Day package includes…

• Hotel lodging near the Radford University campus
• Dinner-Breakfast-Lunch

Students will be continually chaperoned during their entire stay.

The cost per student is:
$80.00 – resident
$45.00 - commuter

Payable by participants before October 15, 2014.


2014 Radford Clarinet Day Itinerary

Friday – November, 7

5:00 p.m.     Registration and Hotel Check-In – La Quinta Inn Radford (hotel lobby)

6:00 p.m.    Dinner – Dalton Hall at Radford University

7:30 p.m.   PERFORMANCE – Guest Artist Fabian Fuertes, RU Faculty David Allen, and RU clarinetists.

Saturday – November, 8

9:00 a.m.     Masterclass I

10:30 a.m.   Clarinet Ensemble Rehearsal I – the clarinet ensemble will consist of all festival participants and RU clarinet students.

12:00 p.m.     Lunch

1:30 p.m.    Masterclass II

3:00 p.m.    Clarinet Ensemble Rehearsal II

4:00 p.m.     Performance – Performance by Festival Clarinet Ensemble of all participants and Special Guests.
