Greetings from the Radford University Conference Services staff. We would like to take this opportunity to share our excitement about the events occurring on campus now through the end of July and introduce the Conference Services summer staff. Tanya Ridpath - Director

Tanya has worked at Radford University for the past 10 years in various capacities and has served as director of Conference Services for seven of those years. Tanya enjoys the challenges of implementing events while working with local, regional and international populations. Tanya and her staff proudly represent Radford University by providing guests a pleasant and welcoming experience through top-notch customer service. Tanya received her Master of Science in Corporate and Professional Communication in the spring of 2006 at Radford University and is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.

Waleed Sarwari - Senior Conference Assistant

Waleed is a second-year conference assistant and has returned to serve as a leader among the group. A rising senior from Stafford, Va., he is a computer science major with a concentration in software engineering. Actively involved with Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and president of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon computer science honor society, Waleed is also active with the Association of Computer Machinery and is a National Residence Hall Honorary, a RU Microsoft Student Partner, an assistant resident director for the university-owned apartments and an IT peer instructor. Some of his hobbies are sports and video games, watching movies, and listening to music.

Nick Hagood - Senior Conference Assistant

Nick is a rising senior at Radford University and is majoring in computer science with concentrations in software engineering and database. He is working toward a National Security Agency approved security certification. Nick served as a conference assistant during the summer of 2010 and has returned to serve as a senior conference assistant. He is also the IT security technician for the Information Security Officer of Radford University. Nick, who is from Gretna, Va., likes to play video games and hang out with friends in his spare time.

Kathryn Jones - Conference Assistant

Kathryn is from Madison, Va., and graduated from Radford University in May with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Business Administration. In her four years at Radford University she participated in many clubs and activities, including Lambda Pi Eta and served as a project coordinator for community service events throughout the New River Valley. She was a previous intern for Conference Services in the fall of 2009 but is new to the summer conference assistant position. After the 2011 summer conference season, Kathryn plans on either continuing her education through graduate school or pursuing a career in event coordination, human resources or corporate communication.

Kevin Privott - Conference Assistant

Kevin is a rising senior at Radford University who is studying mathematics with concentrations in applied mathematics and statistics. He is from Herndon, Va., and is excited to be graduating in the spring of 2012. His goals are to attend graduate school and receive his Ph.D. in either mathematics or engineering. He is a member of the Sigma Pi social fraternity and the Alpha Lambda Delta honorary fraternity. Kevin enjoys competing in sports and spending time outdoors. He is family-oriented and likes to meet new people. Kevin enjoys tough physical and mental challenges.

Courtney Russell - Conference Assistant/Intern

Courtney is a communication major with emphasis in public relations. She is from Dinwiddie, Va. Courtney serves as a resident assistant leadership coordinator for the Residence Hall Association and is new to the conference assistant/intern position. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Communication in December of 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with her family. After graduating, Courtney plans to continue her education and receive a Master of Science in Corporate Communication from Radford University.

Tori Robeson - Office Assistant

Tori is a Northern Virginia native who received her undergraduate degree in accounting with a minor in psychology from Virginia Tech in the fall of 2009. She is now working toward an M.B.A. from Radford University in the spring of 2012. Tori has worked for Conference Services for two semesters as a graduate assistant. She will continue to work for Conference Services as an office assistant throughout the summer and plans to return for a second year. Tori processes all accounting paperwork and is the point of contact for Conference Services.
