The College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences Fall 2013 Faculty Convocation was opened by Dean Kate Hawkins on Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Porterfield Hall's Pridemore Playhouse. Dean Hawkins welcomed everyone back to the University for the academic year. Many were honored for outstanding accomplishments and long-time service. New faculty were introduced as was a new program to choose CHBS Student Ambassador's from each department and the School to represent us at events and assist with guests. The Dean presented her goals for the year and Ron Davenport from Moseley Architects presented a slide show which highlighted a number of special features of the upcoming new CHBS building proposed to open in Fall 2016.

Dr. Guy Axtell (Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies), 2013 winner of the CHBS Distinguished Scholarship Award
Dr. Mary Atwell (Department of Criminal Justice), 2013 winner of the CHBS Distinguished Teaching Award
Dr. Mary Atwell receives recognition from Dr. Margaret Hrezo (Department of Political Science) for her 25 years of service to Radford University
Dr. Carole Seyfrit (Department of Sociology) is recognized by Dr. Jeanne Mekolichick (Department of Sociology) for her many years of service to Radford University.
