I am currently an associate professor in the Elementary Education Department within the School of Teacher Education and Leadership.  In addition to teaching a variety of methods courses, I also serve as the cohort leader for pre-service students in Roanoke, VA.

My journey to my current position actually began here at Radford College where I received my BS degree in Upper Elementary Education in August, 1978. After working for 23 as an elementary  teacher and then six years as an Assistive Technology Coordinator, I completed my EDD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Special Education and Technology in 2007 from Virginia Tech. This allowed me to fulfill a dream of coming back to Radford, now Radford University, to work with pre-service students.

My current research interests are focused in the areas of Universal Design for Learning, the integration of educational and adaptive technologies, and pre-service educators’ dispositions.

I have never wanted to be anything other than a teacher.  And, after 35 years in the education profession, teaching is still my passion.
