Career Services Courses

The following courses are offered by Career Services. These courses are offered for one credit during the first eight weeks of the semester. The courses are taught totally online.

COED 461 (Section 1):   Pre-Internship Preparation

This 1 credit-hour course is intended for sophomores and juniors who are preparing for career related experiences such as internships. The academic emphasis of the course will be exploration of employability skills that are essential across most occupations and industries; preparation of career related documents (i.e. resume, cover letter); and, strategies for identifying and applying for internships that align with the student’s interests, values, and skills.

COED 461 (Section 2):  Graduate School Success

This 1 credit-hour course is intended to assist students in exploring the various facets of applying to graduate school. The academic emphasis of the course will exploration of the components of the graduate school application process (i.e. graduate school exams, application deadlines) and strategies for identifying and applying for graduate or professional schools that align with the students professional and career aspirations.

EDUC 460:  College-to-Career Transition

This 1 credit-hour course is intended to prepare seniors to effectively transition from college into the workplace. The academic emphasis of the is on resume building, portfolio development, interview skills, networking and social media in the career search, and strategies for identifying and applying career opportunities  that align with the student’s interests, values, and skills.
