If you or someone you know is being threatened and are in fear of your safety or well-being, you can contact the Radford University Police Department to report the threatening behavior. If you are a student, you can also contact the Dean of Students Office for additional assistance. If you are a faculty or staff member you can also contact Human Resources for additional assistance.
To report threatening behavior, you can contact RUPD 24 hours a day, year-round.

I am worried someone I know may commit an act of violence against someone else
If you suspect that someone you know may commit violence against another person, it is important to report this information to the Radford University Police Department immediately. Even if you are unsure of the target of the violence, this information is important for the RUPD to have. This can include if someone you know has access to or is storing weapons on campus.
If you think that someone else on campus might be in danger, please report this information to the police immediately. You can contact the RUPD 24 hours a day, year-round. Even if you are unsure of the level of danger involved, it is best to let a trained Radford University Police Officer decide whether or not action is necessary. RUPD can also let you know what other resources are available on campus to assist the person who is potentially in danger. It also might be helpful to notify the person whom you are concerned that they might be in danger if you are able to do so. Please remember that getting involved in any other way could place you in danger as well.
I am worried that someone I know might be hurting themselves
If you are worried that someone you know is intentionally harming themself or is considering committing suicide, please contact the Student Counseling Services or the Radford University Police Department. You can encourage that person to seek help and offer to go with them for support, but if you are at all worried about their safety, please let someone know. This is not something that you should try to deal with on your own. Counseling services are also available for individuals who are supporting friends or family through a tough time.

Office of the Dean of Students The Office of the Dean of Students assists and supports students in achieving academic and personal goals. They are available to answer questions, to help resolve issues or concerns and to refer students to the appropriate university or community resources.

Division of Student Affairs The Vice President for Student Affairs and staff provide a broad range of services to the students of the University. The Vice President oversees departments and offices responsible for student counseling, multicultural student services, services for disabled and commuting students, student rights and responsibilities, organizations and activities, student government, the student conduct system, student residences and student health needs.
