Radford University Accounting Professor Bruce Chase has been reappointed to a second term on the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) by the Radford City Council and reelected secretary-treasurer of the agency.
"With his background, Dr. Chase is always able to shed light on the financial aspects of the IDA's work and gives it good guidance," said Basil Edwards, economic development director for the city and executive director of the IDA.
The seven-member committee, chaired by Albert Mah, manages property and projects to encourage economic development and create jobs in the city of Radford.
"Enhancing the economic vibrancy of our community is an important effort of which I am glad to be part," Chase said.
Chase serves as the director of RU’s Governmental and Nonprofit Assistance Center (GNAC), which is part of the university's College of Business and Economics. The GNAC provides professional education, technical assistance, research assistance and current information to governmental and nonprofit organizations across Virginia.
