Faye W. Gilbert, dean of RU’s College of Business and Economics, has been elected secretary-treasurer of the Southern Business Administration Association (SBAA.) She will assume her new duties at the organization’s board meeting Jan. 26–27 in Atlanta.
The mission of the 100-member SBAA is to improve business education by showcasing best practices, promoting innovation in teaching and scholarship, and encouraging leadership in the management of educational programs.
“It is a distinct privilege to join the leadership team of the SBAA, an organization that inspires the business academic community to enhance its service to our students and institutions,” Gilbert said. “Representing RU and this distinguished academic leadership organization are great honors.”
Gilbert will also be a presenter at the Women Administrators in Management Education (WAME) Affinity Group meeting at the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools’ Deans Conference in New Orleans on Feb. 8. Gilbert will be part of a group that includes deans, associate deans, assistant deans, program directors, center directors and academic department chairs. Her topic will be “Volunteering for the AACSB.”
