Web Production Coms326: Project #1 Deconstructing Online Multimedia
For this project I will be analyzing different multimedia websites, commenting my opinions on how the designer uses digital videos, storyslides, and powerpoint tools to accomplish their stories. I will be identifing the who, what, when, where and why of the story I am observing. I will also be including a describing of the format and what style the designer chose to use in presenting their story. The sites I chose to analyze are:
- Flypmedia Under the Sea Review
The Article "Under the Sea" uses many creative mutlimedia aspects such as the use of movies, audio, still images, and text to express what the author's purpose was. - Mercury News Photos Getting Hitched
- MediaStorm Finding the Way Home: Two Years After Katrina
Similarities and Differences
There are many similarities between all three of these mixed media articles. All of them use the techniques involving videos, images, and text of some type but all use them in completely different ways. Each Article has a different creator purpose and topic they are supposed to be tell the viewers alot. I personally feel that the Flymedia Under the Sea Article did the best job using all of these aspects. It was easier for the viewer to follow than all the other articles and websites I viewed for this project.
The creator of this article "Getting Hitched", using mostly the video mixed media technique to show the viewers one of the most incredible experiences of a womens life. The creator also using the techniques of still images and text slides to make this experience feel more life like and so the viewers feel like they are truely getting to know each person and how their relationship changed over time.
