My Personal Experiences

Our Rafting Group Just imagine telling people that you are going white water rafting down the Upper Gauley River for your first time experience. They say "You Are Crazy!", "Have You Lost Your Mind?", and "It Was Nice Knowing You!". That would freak you out right? Well this is what happened to me. I starting questioning if this was a good idea and why am I putting myself in such danger just to have a little fun. Well let me tell you it does not get any better when you arrive at your rafting company and they make you sign a permission slip saying they are not liable if you become severely injuried or if you die. After you get through this fear, your next fear occurs on the hour long bus ride to the launch place when your guides are telling you that safety precautions that can occur during this rafting experience. But the guides always remind you at the end of their speech that if you survive you will have had an experience of a lifetime.

From personal experience, after trying this sport for the first time, the experience is really fun and extraordinary. The fears that you face at the beginning just adds to the whole experience. If you ever get the chance to go white water rafting, do it and you will never regret it.
