Male Body Image Project

In Media & Society (MSTD 335), I worked on a topic about a current issue concerning media and society. I wrote about male body image and have analyzed, and compiled information about male body images in television and magazine advertisements and its impact in society. It seems to be a "silent' issue in America. The goal of the project was to inform the powerful effects that advertising has and how society has to become media literate. This project was to also demonstrate clear communication skills, develop strong critical thinking criteria, and develop research skills. This project has not only helped master my writing and research skills, but it allowed me to gain practical knowledge in the advertising aspects of media.

Update: I plan to write to an article in The Tartan about this subject and hopefully a series on the Whim Online Magazine as well.
