Russell Hall The third building constructed on campus, Russell Hall was completed as the second residence hall in 1927. It was completely renovated in 1987. The first and second floors currently serve as the home of the College of Education and Human Development. The Department of Psychology occupies the third and fourth floors. The building was named in honor of Madame Elizabeth Russell, Patrick Henry's sister. She and her husband moved to Southwest Virginia, where she became a cultural leader.
