Jefferson Hall Jefferson Hall, Washington Hall and Madison Hall are named for Virginia-born presidents. The three residence halls all were completed in 1967 and, together with Norwood Hall and Tyler Hall, make up what is known as the Main Quadrangle on the RU campus. The penthouse classrooms atop Jefferson, Washington and Madison halls add a unique feature to the university's varied residence hall facilities. Jefferson Hall, named after our third president, Thomas Jefferson, houses 170 students and is a smoke-free living environment.
