Appalachian Folk Arts Festival Part of Family Weekend

RADFORD – Quilting, blacksmithing, art, music and more are part of Radford University’s 24th annual Appalachian Folk Arts Festival on Saturday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., on Radford University’s Heth Lawn. The festival is part of weekend programming for Family Weekend which includes the inaugural Welcome Back reunion and the 14th annual Radford Highlanders Festival.

Expert artisans throughout the region demonstrate their crafts and visitors can shop for homemade gifts while listening to old-time and bluegrass music performed by County Connection, Moccasin Gap, The Wolfe Brothers, The Grassy Hollow Band, Jim Lloyd and the Skyliners and Victory Xpress Blu-graz Band.

An auction at noon featuring unique wares by the artisans benefits the Robert Glen and Cora Green Toney Appalachian Studies Scholarship.
