RU Interior Design Student Named to State Board

RADFORD – Radford University senior interior design major Erin Harper of Burtonsville, Md., has been appointed as Student Chapter President and Virginia Chapter Student Representative to the Board for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the leading organization for interior design professionals.

Erin HarperIn her role as student representative to the state board, Harper is responsible for representing all student chapters and independent student members within the chapter. She also serves as the communication link between the student membership and professional chapters; encourages student participation in programs including career and professional development and ensures student chapter communications follow ASID brand identity and standards.

Harper’s one-year appointment to the board begins October 1. She says her appointment provides opportunities to communicate with those in academic and professional fields. “I will be able to share information but I also have been given the chance to talk about Radford University’s interior design program. I have received a great deal of positive feedback from professionals and industry partners on RU’s program and classes,” Harper says.
