Fraim Appointed Chair of President's Advisory Council

RADFORD – Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle has appointed alumnus Thomas E. Fraim Jr. of Norfolk as the new chair of the President’s Advisory Council, the former Business Industry Council. Fraim is a member of the university’s Board of Visitors and serves on the Commission for the Future of Radford University.

Tom FraimChanging the name of the Business Industry Council to President’s Advisory Council was based on recommendations from a recent meeting of the group’s executive committee. The new name, said Kyle, is “more inclusive to those who may wish to participate” and “shows that the Council will have a direct working relationship with the President.”

Kyle expressed gratitude to alumnus Steve Cassaday, who has chaired the Business Industry Council since its inception. “The Business Industry Council has provided Radford University with tremendous leadership, networking and outreach for over a decade,” she said. “As we move forward, Steve has decided that it is time for a leadership change. However, he will remain an active member of the Council.”

As chair of the President’s Advisory Council and a member of the Board of Visitors, Fraim “will be able to serve as the Council’s direct link to the Board,” said Kyle. “This will provide the Council with a consistent message regarding the direction of Radford University.”
