RADFORD -- Faye W. Gilbert, Dean of RU’s College of Business and Economics, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Southern Business Administration Association (SBAA).

Gilbert will assume her duties in January 2010 for the 100-member SBAA whose mission is to improve management education by providing networking opportunities for business educators, showcasing best practices, promoting innovation in teaching and scholarship, and encouraging leadership in the management of educational programs.

“Representing RU in this distinguished academic leadership forum is an honor,” said Gilbert. “It is an opportunity to contribute to the SBAA, an organization that supports the business academic community and inspires it to better serve our students and institutions.”

Along with RU, The SBAA includes deans representing these Virginia business colleges: Christopher Newport University, James Madison University, Longwood University, University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Virginia Military Institute, Washington and Lee University.
