COBE Presents "Life of a NIKE Global Marketing Director" Friday

RADFORD - The iconic "swoosh" is recognizable on an international scale, something so simple yet so intrinsically tied to the identity of one corporation. It is the symbol of NIKE, and on Friday, Nov. 14, RU graduate and NIKE's global marketing director Steven Boyd will be on campus to talk about the path the company took to become a global brand, the challenges ahead, and the direction in which NIKE is headed.

Steven BoydThe event, which is free and open to the campus, begins at 11 a.m. in Bonnie Auditorium. At 2 p.m., Boyd will lead a career-planning seminar, also to be held in Bonnie Auditorium, highlighting his journey from RU to NIKE. A question and answer session will be held during each event.

Boyd (right) graduated from RU with a degree in marketing and went on to earn his master's degree from Old Dominion University. As the global marketing director of NIKE, he is responsible for equipment product marketing focused on running, basketball and athletic training.

The event will be hosted by RU's College of Business and Economics and the RU chapters of Phi Beta Lambda and the American Marketing Association. To learn more, contact Andrew Pierce at awpierce@radford.edu or (540) 320-4851.
