RADFORD -- English professor and author Tim Poland has published Other Stones, Kinder Temples, a chapbook of poems. The book is available at the RU Bookstore and from LaPointe's Books.

Poland will give a reading from Other Stones, Kinder Temples at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 12 in the Flossie-Martin Gallery on the RU campus. Refreshments will be served.

Poland is the author of the novel The Safety of Deeper Water and Escapee, a collection of short fiction. His work has been published in various literary magazines, such as North American Review, Cimarron Review, The Beloit Fiction Journal, Literal Latté, The Furnace Review, Rattle, Main Street Rag, Sow's Ear Poetry Review, Stickman Review, Appalachian Heritage and others. Poland received the Plattner/Appalachian Heritage Award in 2002, and his work has been included in the Best of the Net anthology (2007) and has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
